A BRIEF BIO (written in 2009)

My name is Elka Romero. I'm Brazilian and I live in Fortaleza, a city near the Atlantic Ocean. I was born on February 8th, 1969. I'm divorced and I have one and only daughter, Rebecca, who was born on May 24th, 1996.

My family is not too big. I have two sisters and one brother of the same parents and a sister of father only. My parents are still alive. I have three nephews and two nieces. I’m always putting pictures of my family members on my LOs, as most of designers do. So, you can see them all there.

Since I was a child, I like to draw and do all kind of art… To create makes me feel the presence of God. It is always a pleasure to give my best to create awesome products for the stores I work for and my own (http://elkaromero.com/boutique/).

I met digital scrapbook in 2006. I fell in love with it! Since then, I put in mind to never stop growing in knowledge to improve myself with the scrapbooking, because I believe we become a better person working or playing with any kind of art.

I use to create digital material with Photoshop CS3 and Paint Shop Pro 9. I'm also creating with Illustrator CS3 now. Sometimes, I use ArtRage 2.11 and, rarely, the PhotoImpact 11.

I find inspiration in anything… jewels, cloths, objects exposed on shop-windows, pictures, nature, colors of the world etc… and even in my own soul in the unconscious memories of past moments.
